The Backyardigans!

Ella and I went to see The Backyardigans show yesterday with Mandy and Cooper, and the kids had so much fun! Ella wasn't buying it, though, because when the show first started, she turned around and whispered to me, "Mom, those are NOT the Backyardigans." Haha! I guess she realized that the actors' faces were sticking out of their costumes, and that it wasn't REALLY Tasha and Pablo that she was seeing. Cameras weren't allowed once the show had started so I didn't get very many of the kids, but we got a few!

"Swimming" with Cooper

Mandy filled up their baby pool, we plopped down under the awning, and let the kids go to town in the water. Perfect activity for them AND us since they get to splash around like crazy, and we got to relax in the shade with our drinks (water, but hey...).

Baby Emma relaxed with the mommies while the big kids played...next summer she will be running around with them, I'm sure!

So proud

Ella drew our family on her chalkboard the other day. She was SO proud, and asked me to take about a million pictures of her sitting next to her masterpiece.

Daddy's Girl

By far, Ella's favorite thing to do is follow Mikan around and "help" him with different things, play games, or just hang out on the couch. I think by the time that he gets home from work, she is tired of being around just me all day long!

The Dragon Park

I didn't realize that the heat index was going to be 104 today, and I had already promised Ella we would go to the "dragon park", so off we headed. After hunting for a parking spot for about 20 minutes, we were finally there, and she had a blast! It didn't seem to bother her that it felt like a sauna outside...she was too busy exploring the mosaics on the dragon (there are lots of little pictures hidden on him) and blowing lots of bubbles. I think this may be her favorite park right now, and I love it because it's a nice change of scenery from the same ol' slides and swings in our neighborhood parks.

Any time we saw a mermaid mosaic, she wanted me to take her picture with it.

She also wanted me to take her picture next to this face...but this was as close as she would get to it, haha! I think she liked it but was a little bit afraid of it at the same time.

The best I could do at fitting the whole dragon in a picture!

Bubble time! This is what we did most of the time, for at least an hour, I would say.
